A closed offline meeting entitled ‘Data leaks: inevitability or miscalculation? How GDPR is changing the rules of the game’ was held in Kyiv

On 24 October, the Ukrainian Association of Fintech and Innovative Companies, together with the law firm Juscutum, held a closed expert meeting dedicated to the impact of GDPR and practical aspects of responding to data breaches. The event brought together executives from financial companies, representatives of the banking sector, technology companies and cyber security specialists.
Participants joined a lively professional discussion on business responsibility in the event of data compromise, interaction with contractors, legal risks, and algorithms for action in the event of a breach of information security.

The speakers at the event were:

  • Iryna Bilyayeva, Managing Partner and CEO of Juscutum
  • Roman Sologub, Co-founder and CEO of ISSP
  • Serhiy Kulyk, Head of the Ukrainian office of iIT Distribution
  • Olga Vasilyeva, Deputy Director of the Payment Systems and Innovative Development Department of the National Bank of Ukraine
  • Petro Bilyk, expert in Legal Tech and data protection.

During the round table, the speakers discussed current challenges in the field of personal data processing and storage, the interaction of financial institutions with cloud services, as well as the responsibility of companies and their technology partners in the event of information leaks.

A special highlight of the event was Petro Bilyk's (Juscutum) presentation on practical tools for risk mitigation, incident management, and compliance requirements for companies working with personal data.
