Agro Finance Summit was held in Kyiv: finance that works for you
On January 23, Kyiv hosted a large-scale conference Agro Finance Summit, which brought together about 900 participants in a hybrid format. The event was held thanks to the support of the American people provided through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) under the Agricultural and Rural Development Program (“AGRO”), implemented by Chemonics International. AGGEEK and the Ukrainian Association of Fintech and Innovation Companies were partners of the event.
The aim of the conference was to discuss new financial instruments to support Ukraine's agricultural sector, which is extremely relevant in the context of current challenges and development of the industry.
Four panel discussions: key topics
Participants had the opportunity to join four panel discussions covering relevant topics of financing for agricultural business:
1️⃣ “New non-bank financial instruments for agrarians” - discussion of alternative sources of financing that are becoming more and more accessible to Ukrainian farmers.
2️⃣ “ Agricultural lending: new solutions from banks” - focus on modern products of the banking sector, developed specifically for the agricultural sector.
3️⃣ “Commodity Lending for Agrarians: Current Opportunities and Future Trends” - discussion of the prospects of lending for the future harvest and other commodity models.
4️⃣ “From Idea to Implementation: Farmers' Secrets to Attracting Funding” - practical cases from agricultural producers who shared successful strategies for attracting funding.
Honoring the finalists of the “Power of AgriChange” award
An important part of the event was the awarding of the finalists of the Power of AgriChange competition, which aims to recognize innovative solutions in the agricultural sector. The winners were recognized for their contribution to the development of the industry, introduction of the latest technologies and adaptation to modern conditions, as well as valuable awards from partners. The competition was organized by the online publication Agroportal with the support of the USAID AGRO Program.
The conference brought together representatives of the agricultural sector, banking and finance, as well as government officials, creating a platform for discussing key challenges and opportunities in the industry.
Agro Finance Summit has become an important platform for finding new solutions, establishing partnerships and creating prospects for the development of the Ukrainian agricultural sector.
