Kyiv, Ukraine (September 8, 2020) - On September 8, 2020, The Ukrainian Association of Fintech and Innovation Companies (UAFIC), awarded a grant by the USAID Financial Transformation Project, announced the launch of the pilot of FinSkarga – The National Financial Complaints Mediation Platform .
From now, all citizens of Ukraine who intend to submit complain about the violation of their rights in the field of financial services will be able to use the service for free. The pilot project will provide an opportunity to complain to a bank or microfinance organization (MFI).
"The purpose of this project is to introduce a voluntary mechanism for settling complaints in the financial market and to help citizens defend their rights as consumers of financial services. Today we observe a lot of violations by financial institutions. As early as September, we expect the platform to receive at least 500 complain from citizens and help resolve their issues with banks or MFIs. Everyone can leave his complaint on the platform and be sure that it will be forwarded for consideration to the appropriate financial institution. If this institution is unable to help the client, the complaint will be considered by the regulator or may go to court", – said the Chairman of the Board of UAFIC Rostyslav Dyuke.
The platform has already been supported by 25 market players: 7 banks and 18 MFIs. Negotiations are in progress with ten future members of FinSkarga.
It is planned that the platform will be fully operational in November 2020. The service will be available for online use from any device. The official launch of the platform is at the end of 2020.
