The Deposit insurance fund and UAFIC are strengthening their cooperation and opening up new opportunities for fintech companies

The Deposit insurance fund for Individuals (hereinafter referred to as the “Fund”) and the Ukrainian Association of Fintech and innovation companies (UAFIC) are strengthening their partnership. The parties have signed a Memorandum of cooperation, which, among other things, is intended to facilitate the involvement of fintech companies, experts, and potential investors in new processes and opportunities in Ukraine’s banking sector.
The document formalizes the agreement between the Fund and UAFIC to work together on implementing financial and fintech innovations, establishing effective communication between government institutions and all market participants, and strengthening confidence in the banking sector.

The Fund’s partnership with UAFIC provides an additional opportunity to inform potential investors about the prospects and benefits of acquiring banks undergoing resolution. Furthermore, attracting new market participants increases the number of potential scenarios for removing banks from the market and facilitates the search for effective ways to preserve businesses.

“We have been collaborating with UAFIC for a long time and fully understand the value of such a partnership. The fintech community consists of companies that respond quickly to changes, seek new business models, and have access to a wide network of professional contacts. It is important for the Fund that these companies and investors are aware of the opportunities currently available in the Ukrainian banking market. As a result, everyone wins: investors gain a new business direction, and the financial sector gains additional resources and professional solutions,” said Olga Bilay, Executive Director of the Deposit Guarantee Fund.
Practical collaboration involves the exchange of analytics and expert knowledge, the preparation of joint informational materials, as well as the organization of conferences, forums, roundtables, seminars, webinars, and public discussions. This will make it possible to more broadly inform the professional community about changes in the financial market and the tools available to its participants.

“Today, fintech is an integral part of Ukraine’s financial ecosystem, so it is important for UAFIC to build systematic cooperation with all key market participants, particularly with the Fund. Such a partnership, first and foremost, provides an opportunity to foster an open dialogue between the government, the financial sector, and the business community, to better understand the changes taking place in the market, and to jointly find practical solutions. We want participants in the fintech ecosystem not only to react to these changes but to be directly involved in shaping new opportunities for the development of Ukraine’s financial market,” emphasized Rostislav Dyuk, Chairman of the Board of the Ukrainian Association of Fintech and Innovative Companies.

The partners will publicize the results of joint projects and events on their official platforms. If necessary, individual initiatives may be formalized through additional agreements.
